LockKM

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-09-25

trimix ("we") sets out below how personal information is handled in LockKM ("the app"), a utility for macOS.

1. Scope

This policy applies only to the app. Services you navigate to from the app (such as the Mac App Store) are governed by their own providers' policies.

2. What we collect, and what we do not

The app collects and transmits nothing. It has no capability to connect to the internet at all — the implementation contains no networking code.

  • No account registration. There is no screen that asks for your name or email address
  • No analytics and no advertising
  • No crash reporting
  • No automatic update checks (updates are delivered through the Mac App Store)

The only things the app stores on your Mac are the settings below. None of them ever leave your Mac.

StoredWhat it isWhere
Unlock key comboThe combination you set (default: ⌘⇧Esc) On your Mac (macOS preferences storage)
Auto-unlock timeoutThe number of seconds you chose
Startup and display settingsLaunch at login; display language
Cleaning reminderReminder interval and next date

3. How input is handled while locked

While locked, the app blocks keyboard and mouse input using macOS's event-handling mechanism (an event tap). In doing so it never records, stores, or transmits what you type or click. Pressed keys are used only to check whether they match your unlock combo, and are discarded immediately.

4. About the Accessibility permission

Blocking input requires macOS's Accessibility permission. This is how macOS grants an app control over input; it does not send us any information. You can revoke it at any time under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

5. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we update this page and revise the "last updated" date.

6. Contact
